Chart-only (Sub-grid) - "This process is not supported in new process forms."

Can somebody tell me what this means? I wanted to replace a sub-grid view with the chart only in the Account form and the option to select 'Chart-Only' is grayed out and when I hover over the question mark, that is the message that displays.
