SuzyFrom what you have described above the simple non-programming way would be to create a workflow that fires on the create of the note to copy the note to the other entity record.

I am not aware of any limitation of the UR version that CRM 4 Outlook Client would be on that would limit it's ability to be upgraded to 2011 except that it has to be on 7 or higher.
